Soldier finds gray kitten in engine block, updates his animal lover wife who promptly demands he bring the baby home to add to their fluffy family: 'He turned out to be a daddy’s boy'

It's always the dads who weren't "cat people" who fall in love with their fluffy fur babies the most.

One of the best parts of being the "animal lover" in your relationship is watching your other half slowly understand how amazing pets truly are. We grew up in a household with a lot of pets. And by a lot, we mean around five dogs, two cats, and two horses. We were surrounded by animals from the time we were born, and we've always loved having a pet in the house. Our partner, on the other hand, never had a pet before. So when we got together, the first thing we said was, "You know we're going to adopt at least a few cats, right?".

He was skeptical at first. "It's your responsibility", he said. "I'll go along with it because I know I can't stop you", he said. Well, as soon as we got to the shelter and started looking at kittens, everything changed. We took one home, and he immediately started calling her "his daughter".

The same happened with the soldier in our story below. He found a tiny gray kitten in an engine block, then reported back to his animal-loving wife who demanded he bring the baby home. Like a good husband, he obeyed.

    My soldiers found him and his siblings one morning inside of an engine block. We looked for the mom but she never came back. He just celebrated his 1st birthday in February. I never had a cat before (my family only ever had dogs) and I didn't like cats before because of bad experiences.

    He loves to spend time with me. He will either demand I let him hangout on my lap while I am on the computer or he will sleep on the top of my desktop. At night he will sleep on top of me and do biscuits or he will sleep next to our heads.

  • The kitten chose his favorite hooman - falling asleep on his chest, always wanting to play with him, and be by his side. Because of how hard he fell for this cat, they even went out and adopted another one later. If that's not a cat-conversion success story, we don't know what is!

    He doesn't meow, he just chirps or grumbles like an old man as he patrols his kingdom, especially when a door is closed. Because of him, we now have two cats.

  • All cats may have strikingly different purrsonalities, but they all share some common quirks that we'll never get tired of, such as: hanging out/lounging in sinks, sleeping on top of computers, and being cute, fuzzy babies no matter what age they are.
